Film evening – The Road Home

Film evening to be held at Southern Cross Club, Jamison The Road Home: City businessman Luo Yusheng returns to his home village in North China for the funeral of his father, the village teacher. Before returning to the city, Yusheng symbolically honours his father's dearest wish: he spends one day teaching in the village school. Entry: Gold coin donation for Project Hope

Trip to Braidwood

ACFS will organise a self-drive visit to Braidwood on Sunday 19 May 2019. The tentative itinerary is: 9:30am Meet in Queanbeyan; car pool. 11:00am Local historian John Stahel will explain the Chinese collection in the Braidwood Museum. Donation welcome. 12:30pm Lunch at local cafe. 2:00pm Owner Sonia Horan will conduct a tour of Bedervale House ($15) followed by tea/coffee ($5). 4:00pm return to Queanbeyan / Canberra. Belt and Road Initiatve for Cultural Institutions

Panda Competition Award Ceremony

The presentation ceremony for prize-winners of the Panda competition will be held at the Chinese Embassy on Wednesday 6 November. The topic this year is ‘Ancient Chinese Inventions’ and the ~500 entries showed much imagination. A few volunteers are needed to help out on the day from 11.15am to 2pm and a light lunch will be provided. Film Night – Forever Young
